Description

Indian incense (Bosvellia Serrata)

The resin of the Boswellia Serrata incense tree has been sacred incense for thousands of years. It is a liquid bark, with which the tree seals and heals injuries to the trunk and branches. Along with myrrh and gold, incense is one of the gifts of the three kings and was sacrificed to the ancient oriental gods in pre-Christian times 7000 years ago. In Egypt, incense was used not only for religious rites, but also for embalming the mummies of well-to-do deceased due to its cleansing and disinfecting properties.

Less well known is the millennial use of Indian incense (Bosvellia Serrata, Sanskrit: Shallaki or Salai Guggal) in traditional Ayurveda. Incense is used as an ointment, e.g. for arthritis, broken bones, swollen glands and ulcers, as well as internally for all kinds of ailments and inflammations.

Until 1875. incense was also part of classical European naturopathy, mainly for the alleviation of rheumatic diseases, and can be found in pharmacological manuals. Temporarily forgotten, incense is now enjoying increasing popularity again.

Rich in precious boswellic acids

In addition to a number of essential oils (8-12%) and polysaccharides (20-45%), incense also contains special resin acids, namely 5 – 8% of boswellic acids, including the main active ingredient acetyl-11-keto-b-boswellic acid, or AKBA for short. All the active ingredients of the incense plant, and especially the essential oils and acid resins, form a synergistic complex. Boswellic acids have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the enzymes 5-lipoxygenase and COX (cytochrome c oxidase), which are responsible for the production of inflammatory leukotrienes and prostaglandins, and contribute to joint health from a dose of 300-450 mg, according to the European body EFSA.

Top quality boswellia extract 65% boswellic acid

Our premium incense extract is standardized to a particularly high 65% boswellic acid content and comes from pure pesticide-free Indian incense resin from a gentle wild collection. Each capsule contains 400 mg of pure boswellic acid.

Custom product without toxic ingredients

After a long search for suitable Boswellia Serrata extracts, we decided on a custom product produced only from edible ethanol from an Indian manufacturer of premium products in order to exclude contamination with suspicious solvent residues such as methanol, acetone or n-hexane. Acetone is especially used to extract incense.

Highest quality and purity

The raw materials are produced in India according to the highest standards of purity and quality, and encapsulated and bottled in a company with HACCP certification in the EU. The product is lactose, fructose and gluten free, genetically engineered, vegan and made without any additives.
